Værkstedvej 23 is home to our studio and experimental workshop. We approached the interior design as an act of cultural design, understanding offices as environments both shaped by and shaping the people who inhabit them. It exemplifies the power of interior architecture in a time of transformation, showing how simple spatial layers of screens, textiles, and electric lighting can bring new meaning and programming to existing structures. Our workspace design reflects the sawtooth roof typology, organized into four sections that correspond to four steps within our workflow: design, prototyping, assembly, and the shared community area. In planning the office, we wanted to stimulate an activity-based workflow and worked towards the conceptual idea of the Office as Workshop. We aimed for transparency while maintaining the possibility for focused work. This was achieved through experimenting with different types of screens, including flexible post-beam system, textiles, plants and glass walls with integrated shelving. Our dynamic workshop allows direct communication between teams and supports fluidity throughout ideation, prototyping, and production. The open spatial design provides flexibility while encouraging participation, collaboration, and learning. The space is in constant movement, shaped by the rhythms of daily work life and the projects we are currently engaged with.
