The brief for our latest residential project was to create a functional industrial kitchen balanced by a domestic touch.
The part of the kitchen holding the “wet appliances”, such as the sink, fridge and dishwasher is realized in brushed stainless steel. The other length of the kitchen extending towards the dining room, is realized in vibrant Ashwood, bringing it into relation with the rest of the house’s warm interior.
A fine strip of Ashwood under the stainless steel countertop references the kitchens wooden elements, subtly connecting the two sections of the of the structure. Subtle curves throughout the wooden fronts give softness to the metal kitchen and elegance to the overall mass. The brushed surface of the stainless steel elements softly reflect the color of the Ashwood surfaces, resulting in an overall bright and warm atmosphere.
As part of this residential kitchen project we also developed a range of linseed oil-painted plywood furniture.
