The exhibition design of Lyst at Gammel Strand unfolds the artistic practice of Danish designer and ceramicist Ursula Munch-Petersen. A story yet to be told and experienced through an artistic lens. Lyst gathers parts of her workshop, archive material, and unique works. Collectively, they offer an insight into her life and work across three themes, the hand (Hånden), the spirit (Ånden), and the art (Kunsten), each given its own space in the layout. The concept is guided by the material itself. Clay is dynamic and free in form. It moves while wet and stops only once dry. The exhibition design is set as its counterpart: static, square, and a quiet frame for the ceramics. The same logic continues in the exhibition furniture, produced in-house in oiled HDF and powder-coated steel. Tables in two heights carry the works, alongside shelving in the same square language. Both rest on a leg designed for Lyst, which stacks for easy storage and future use. Following Gammel Strand, Lyst will travel to four museums across Denmark over the next three years: Fuglsang Kunstmuseum, Holstebro Kunstmuseum, Bornholms Kunstmuseum, and Vejen Kunstmuseum.
