The exhibition design of 'Lyst' at Gammel Strand unfolds the artistic practice of Danish designer and ceramicist Ursula Munch-Petersen. A story told for the first time through an artistic lens. 'Lyst' gathers parts of her workshop, archive materials, and unique works. Collectively, they offer an insight into her life and work across three themes, the hand (Hånden), the spirit (Ånden), and the art (Kunsten), each given its own space in the layout. The concept is guided by the clay material. It is dynamic and free in form. It moves while wet and stops only once dry. The exhibition design is set as its counterpart: static, square, and a quiet frame for the ceramics. This dialogue continues in the exhibition furniture. Tables and shelving in a square form language carry the works, and rest on a universal leg designed for 'Lyst', which stacks for easy storage and future use. Produced in-house in oiled HDF and powder-coated steel. Following Gammel Strand, 'Lyst' will travel to four museums across Denmark over the next three years, Fuglsang Kunstmuseum, Holstebro Kunstmuseum, Bornholms Kunstmuseum, and Vejen Kunstmuseum.
