Description

A simple and elegant stool with open-ended uses; if that may be as an indoor or outdoor stool, secure as stepping stool to reach high places, a plinth for a plant or finally as a side-table next to the bed, lounge or sofa arrangement. The Alu Stool is the first object of our series of research into the material properties and production opportunities of sheet metal. The Aluminium Furniture Series displays the simple structural principle through precise bends in the material. All pieces are joined by bolting, abstaining from glueing or welding, foregrounding modular furniture pieces that can be taken apart, fixed or renewed. The stool ships flat-packed with simple instructions and a hex key for assembly and disassembly.

Care _ Maintenance

Aluminium is a durable and light metal that is easily laser-cut and bent. In its raw state aluminium surfaces are susceptible to stain through scratches, oils, water and other substances.  Aluminium surfaces will age naturally over time, displaying a patina of life lived. Four tips below will help you care for your aluminium furniture:
+ Regularly tightening the bolts will extend the stools lifespan
+ Cleaning with a soft sponge / cloth and non-abrasive cleaning detergents (eg. hand soap).
+ Periodically applying a protective product or oil to slow down the ageing process
+ Embracing Patina
Please note that, due to the softness of the material, aluminium parts may come with minor scratching from the production.
